Week #11 & Week #12

I am still nursing an overuse injury in my left ankle but I am doing OK.  I can still run.  I thank the Lord during every single run that I CAN still run.

For Week #11 I did the following...

Monday = Rest
Tuesday = Short run in the late afternoon of four miles.  Still some pain but a significant amount more than last week.
Wednesday = Swam about the same amount...maybe a little less than normal because Erica started a little earlier.
Thursday = Rest...I had wanted to go to the gym but I was SO tired after having youth group the night before.
Friday = Run 5 miles.  It was not the easiest run in terms of shin pain & anxiety.  It got better as time went on.  We walked around the pumpkin patch and corn maze that night and it felt the same.  When we walked around the mall & Hobby Lobby--it was starting to hurt pretty bad.  The ice, heat, rolling & stretching all helps.
Saturday = 30 minutes of stationary bike and 30 minutes of weight.  The weights and stretching helped a lot.  My ankle almost felt normal.  I love the weight room and I don't miss Group Power at all.
Sunday = 13 miles at around 10 minute miles.  My goal was 13 but I told myself I would be OK with 11.  I was thrilled to hit 13.  It was not easy at times.  My stamina is lower.  I don't know if that is because of my shin or because of not eating enough.  I feel like it is the first time I marathon trained.  The long runs are rewarding but it is just so tough.

Monday = Rest.
Tuesday = Stationary Bike. My shin is feeling a lot better today.  I felt like I was walking normally most of the day and not stiff.
Wednesday = Swam about 45 minutes.  It was hard to get up but I was glad I made it!
Thursday = Ran 3 miles with around a 10 minute mile pace.  I hate being so slow.  I can't make my body move faster even though my mind is pushing it to do so.  My ankle does hurt but it feel like it is very slowly improving. It feels stiff at the beginning of the run and it really takes about two miles until it feels a little bit better.

I forgot to update this!
