Well it has been a good week. Life is continuing. With kind of a crazy end of summer we're moving into a pretty good fall. I don't have any complaints.
Monday = Rest
Tuesday = Ran 6 miles with an average pace of 9:39
I was so proud I got out by 5 AM and got six miles in. I got into work at a decent time.
Wednesday = Ran 4 miles (Intervals in the park)
I ran in the afternoon. I love running one afternoon a week--one less morning I have to get up super early. I ran a warm up at a slower pace. Then I did 4 x 2 laps at the park with a one lap recovery in between. The weather was perfect. I did not swim because my swim friends are out of town and the lockers rooms and bathrooms are closed.
Thursday = Weights at the gym. I got there close to 5:15 and got in a workout in. Again made it to work on time.
Friday = Rest. I wanted to run or go to the gym. Thursday evening was kind of rough and I did not sleep very well. I woke up a little emotional and not feeling the greatest.
Saturday = Stationary Bike for 35 minutes in the afternoon
Sunday = 12 miles! Yay I made 12 miles! My average pace was around 9:40--probably slight slower at the end. It was hard at times. My stamina was not great. I was very nervous because I have not run this far since the marathon in 2015. For the past three years anytime I go over nine miles I have major knee issues. I end up reducing my mileage. Actually I have never stuck with a training plan for this long since I did the Minneapolis Marathon in 2015. I am thrilled my knee is holding up fine. The PT exercises are making a difference.

Marathon Week #5 and #6
I have run really well with my workouts. Last week I ran 5 miles on Tuesday, swam about 1300 yards on Wednesday, did intervals (total of 3 miles) on Thursday, weights and stretching on Friday, stationary bike for 40 minutes on Saturday and a long run of 10 miles on Sunday. The 10 mile run especially went well. I felt very strong and excited I completed it with little issues. I also have kept up with my PT. It is a little weird to not go to any classes. I have not gone to Ride or Power and I don't really miss either one. I also have not ridden my bike outside. Just with everything that went on in August--I needed something quick and easy.
This week there are my times my knee feels achy and hurts. Stretching and PT always seem to help. It has not hurt while running. On Monday I rested. On Tuesday I ran 4 miles in the early morning. On Wednesday I swam about 1300 yards again. Yesterday (Thursday) I ran 4 miles after work. I am going to try to do one afternoon workout a week. It was nice to have an extra morning to sleep a little later and then work out in the afternoon. Today I rode the stationary bike for 35 minutes.
Now it is Saturday and I ran 8 miles in Keizer with an average pace of around 9:40...though at times it was faster. I ran along the Salem Parkway path and down Cherry. It was a really good run. I have been a little freaked out since that person was attacked in Minto Brown Park. I am trying to be safe! It does make me a little uneasy at times. I did not have any IT band pain on the run. I am really hoping I can keep increasing the mileage.
On Sunday I did weights at the gym. Pretty normal weights workout

Marathon Training Week #4
Monday = Rest
First day back at work!!
Tuesday = Ran 5.04 miles with an average pace of 9:34
I had a good run. Miss running with Tracy and not used to how dark it is. Glad I was motivated to get up and go.
Wednesday = Swam about 1500 meters
I did not feel as strong last week and my right arm was hurting. I still completed a good workout.
Thursday = Bush Park Cross Country Series
Emily and I ran in the cross country series again and I know we beat our time. The clock was not even at 27 minutes when I crossed the finish line. They have not posted our times yet so not sure how we actually did. I felt so much better because I held off on eating dinner beforehand. My stomach did not feel crazy. I pushed myself to maintain my pace. I was pretty spent at the end.
Friday = Stationary bike 35 minutes
I did my normal interval track on the bike in the cardio room. I should go to Group Ride or bike outside. Right now I am enjoying the solo stationary bike while listening to inspirational music. It almost has been therapeutic with all that has gone on the last couple of weeks.
Saturday = Rest
I had zero time to work out because I went right from my getaway with Rob to watching Cheryl's babies. It was a workout in and of itself watching the babies. I felt like I lifted after carrying the baby girl. Also with all the moving of chairs and tables all week--I am counting that for weight training this week. I continued to do my PT 3-4 times this week.
Sunday = Ran 9 miles! My average pace was around 9:37
It was hotter than I suspected and the heat slowed me down at times. I also ran out of sports drink. I was guzzling water after I was done. I did not walk up any of the hills which was all mental for me. I felt pretty good during most of the run. I haven't done long runs like this in awhile. I forget how trying they can be at times.
